The Harley Younker Family 1900
2010
Harley Younker was born in Colorado in 1871 to Jason T. Younker and Rachel Ann Thompson. Rachel Ann was the daughter of Jane Pancake Thompson who was the daughter of William Pancake Senior and a sister to our direct ancestor Samuel Crawford Pancake. Harley is found on the “Early Student” list at Notre Dame University in 1888-1889, prior to his marriage to Annie Dunn. She was born in Wisconsin in 1872. They married in Colorado in 1891. They became the parents of at least four children. They were Rolland, Jennie, Harley and Clarence. There may have been a child after Clarence. This portrait was most likely taken about 1899 or 1900. It shows Harley’s family but with only two children. These children are Rolland and Clarence. Jennie Younker died as a child.
Harley can be found in various census records in Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington. He died in Colorado in 1927. His wife Annie died in the same place one year later in 1928.
This keepsake photograph is from the collection of Charles Lazzeri.
