This keepsake photograph was taken in the late 1920s on the front porch of the Bates home in Richfield, Sevier County, Utah. Left to right: Henry, Stella, Reta, Alta. Behind Alta is direct ancestor Mildren and behind Henry is Lucile. On the far left are Nephi and his wife Flora.
Of great interest to us is the rocking chair on the right. This chair was in the possession of direct ancestor Mildred Bates Watrous all of her life. In her old age, she gave the chair to her only son. It is now in his possession and will be passed along to one of his children and then to a grandchild.
