This is a keepsake photograph of the mine which was a part of the family of Everest Elliott Watrous, his brother Earl Pancake Watrous, their father Henry Reynolds Watrous and Everest’s children. It was called the Lindell Lode. It was located in the area now known as The Spruces in Big Cottonwood Canyon outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1916 these men incorporated their efforts into The Cottonwood Metals Mining Company. They found partners including Mont Ferry, the mayor of Salt Lake City and invested large sums of their own money. Mayor Ferry is behind Everest Elliott Watrous who is the man who is sitting. The complete history of this venture was researched and written by Thomas Watrous in recent years.
